Perween Warsi, CBE, is the founder and Chief Executive of S & A Foods, one of the UK’s most successful independent food companies supplying chilled ready meals for sale throughout the UK and internationally. With an annual turnover of £75 million, S & A Foods makes around 1.5 million meals a week and provides employment for approximately 700 people. Driven by her passion for quality, innovation and product excellence, Perween has received widespread recognition for her outstanding business achievements. Most recently, Perween was awarded the First Women Lifetime Achievement Award, sponsored by the CBI.
Manzoor Moghal is a Financial Consultant and was previously a businessman. He is a certified member of the Chartered Institute of Insurers amongst various other professional qualifications. He is a graduate of Punjab University, Pakistan, having studied at the Foreman Christian College in Lahore. He is a Justice of the Peace and served on the Market Bosworth Bench for 23 years. Manzoor Moghal has been a great champion of promoting good race-relations, and in 2002 he was awarded the honour of MBE for his services to Promoting Equality in Leicester. He is a writer and commentator in the media on race-relations, Asian affairs, Uganda, Islam, and education, amongst many other subjects. In 2010 he published his book, Idi Amin: Lion of Africa. His book has been well-received for its historical and political analysis of the events which took place under Idi Amin’s rule, as well as for its examination of the delicate international relations between Uganda and several other countries.
Neil Kinnock, former leader of the Labour Party, once told a meeting of the Indian Journalists Association that CB stood for “Community Bound”. CB has personally been involved with some campaigns. He joined in the defence of the Hare Krishna Temple at Letchmore Heath and fought for the rights of British passport holders of Indian origin in Hong Kong. He has also helped raise funds for worthy causes. In the last 2 years, CB and his publications have raised £350,000 for a school and health complex for slum children in India, over £55,000 for St Luke’s Hospice in North West London and nearly £50,000 for Oxfam in September 2010. CB was awarded a gold medal by the Mahatma Gandhi Foundation for his long standing community service and manifold achievements. He also played an active role in the formation of the Hindu Forum of Britain (HFB), the largest umbrella body for British Hindus. He is currently the Chair of the Patrons Council of the HFB. CB was elected for two years in 2008 as the President the of the National Congress of Gujarati Organisations (UK)- an umbrella body representing over a hundred Gujarati Associations nationwide.
