The President of LABA, Jaspal Singh Minhas today welcomed Turkish Airlines as Patrons of LABA.
Turkish Airlines will support of LABA’s International Trade Hub linking the Midlands to 200 destination around the world via Birmingham airport. “LABA has longstanding bilateral trade and inward investment links with; India, Nepal, the UAE, East Africa, Bulgaria, Poland, Portugal, Netherlands, Germany, USA and Turkey” said Jaspal “the partnership with Turkish airlines coupled with formal links with the Turkish government will further enhance international links between the Midlands internationally. Currently LABA facilitates on average around fifty trade and investment inquiries a month, via its networks of local banks, accountants, solicitors and private equity firms”.
Selim Ozturk, the General Manager at Birmingham airport said” LABA has been a staunch supporter of Turkish Airlines since our arrival in Birmingham. They have provided real connectivity to the travel agents and local businesses who are supporting the airlines enhancing our initial three flights a week to ten flights a week to 200 destinations around the world from Birmingham Airport. It’s a great pleasure to formalise this partnership.”
Mr Tankut Aydin the Chief Commercial Counsellor of Turkey based in Birmingham, a regular visitor to LABA will hold regular trade and investments surgeries at LABA’s offices. “The East Midlands has some £600 million annual trade with Turkey” said Mr Aydin “LABA’s networks internationally and in Turkey are fuelling the high level of international trade. LABA’s role as regional ambassadors internationally is very valuable to Turkey”.
LABA will facilitate outward sector based missions to Turkey from 2015 at the invitation of Turkish government and host inward trade mission by partners such as ASKON in Turkey. Turkish Airlines will be travel partner for all of LABA international trade and investment connectivity worldwide.
